Things to know about your Botox, Jeuveau, Dysport or Xeomin Treatment
Before Your Treatment: While bruising is uncommon with Botox, Jeuveau, Dysport, or Xeomin, it is still a possibility. To reduce the likelihood of bruising, it is advisable to avoid any blood-thinning substances for 3-4 days leading up to your treatment. This includes: ● Medications: Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Naproxen sodium, and similar medications. ● Supplements: Fish oil and vitamins that begin with the letter "G." ● Alcoholic beverages. Please note that full results may take up to two weeks to manifest, so we recommend scheduling your treatment at least two weeks prior to any significant events.
After Your Treatment: ● Avoid lying flat for three hours post-treatment. ● Refrain from exercising for three hours afterward. ● Do not touch, rub, or apply pressure (including wearing hats) to the treated area for three hours.
Common Questions: What if the lines or wrinkles are still visible after two weeks? If the treatment is effective, the muscles in the targeted areas should no longer be able to create creases in the skin. The time it takes for deeper lines or wrinkles to fade can vary based on their severity before treatment. Fortunately, over the next 3-4 months, you will find that you cannot crease those etched lines, allowing the skin underneath to heal and gradually diminish the appearance of those lines. Regular treatments every 3-4 months will yield the best long-term results.
What occurs during my two-week follow-up appointment? This complimentary visit is designed to ensure your results meet our high standards. Our objective is to determine the minimal effective dose required to achieve your desired outcome. We believe in a conservative approach: “We can always add more, but we can't take it away.” It is essential to attend this follow-up appointment so that we can adjust your dosage if necessary and help you find your ideal treatment level. Any additional units will be charged at the same rate as your previous visit.
