Pre & Post Care
Your results will be visible right away, but they may initially appear fuller than anticipated due to swelling and bruising. It is common to experience minimal to moderate bruising and swelling as side effects. The duration of swelling can vary, lasting several days, while bruising may take longer to subside, depending on the severity of the bruising and how quickly your body can heal. Some tenderness and mild to moderate pinkness of the skin are normal in the days following treatment.
To help alleviate swelling and redness, you may apply a light, intermittent ice pack or cold compress to the treated areas immediately after your injections. However, avoid direct and prolonged contact of ice on the skin. For the next two weeks, it is important to refrain from massaging, scrubbing, or rubbing the treated areas vigorously, even when applying skincare or cosmetic products.
Additionally, steer clear of extreme temperatures for several days post-treatment. This includes avoiding sun exposure, UV lamps, saunas, skiing, or any extreme cold until any redness, swelling, or bruising has resolved. Daily use of sunscreen is recommended.
Although rare, vascular occlusions can occur and are usually identifiable by your injector. It's crucial to be aware of the signs, such as a whitening or bluish discoloration of the skin in a specific area, which may indicate a vascular occlusion.
